Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to support our Financial Crimes Prevention Technology initiatives, focusing on AML Transaction Monitoring and Batch Data Processing Platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Big Data Engineering, Cloud Technologies, Databricks, AI/ML, and Distributed Data Systems, along with experience building scalable enterprise-grade applications in an Agile environment.

This role is responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of innovative software solutions that support critical risk and compliance functions. The successful candidate will contribute to the organization's technology transformation journey by leveraging modern data platforms, cloud services, DevOps practices, and emerging technologies including Generative AI and Machine Learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, operate, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of applications and services by delivering production-ready, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Design and implement enterprise-scale data processing solutions using Big Data technologies.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines.
  • Perform root cause analysis of application and system failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices and development standards.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Scrum Masters, Engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to AI/ML initiatives and adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Implement DevOps and CI/CD best practices to improve software delivery efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data platforms.
  • Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
