Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Java Engineer that possesses strong experience with Java Sprint boot with strong communication skills to work within the Next Edge program. The Next Edge program is developing Mastercard’s next generation edge platform with programmatic interfaces for data transport (transactions, messages, events, APIs, files, etc.) that give our customers a single point of entry to Mastercard network via private customer on-prem connectivity as well as from public clouds.
Role
• Work cross functionally to build and design scalable solutions, systems, and databases, as well as exercising creativity in architecting new product ideas
• Participate in code reviews, mentorship, and architectural decision making
• Contribute to the entire implementation process for new applications and enhancements to existing applications
• Meet with business partners to understand business needs
• Contribute to overall solution design
• Responsible for build and test of applications
• Conduct root cause analysis and complex performance tuning



All About you:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or other Technical related degree or equivalent experience
• 5 + years of software development experience in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices and Hibernate.
• Experience in using Java Native Interface strongly preferred.
• Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Development tools such as Jenkins.
• Proficiency with source code management tools such as GitHub
• Proficiency with Agile and/or SAFe methodology
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development methodologies
