Team description  
The FCC Screening team safeguards ING against financial crime by overseeing screening systems, processes, and alert handling. It ensures robust and up-to-date methodologies, supporting both local and global stakeholders through a core team (NL), virtual team (Global), and on-site team (RO, PH), contributing to a strong FCC control environment.


Specific Function
The FCC Screening team assesses screening alerts escalated by 1LoD and advises the country MLRO on true matches, who then determines actions in line with local regulations. It also oversees screening systems and methodologies, guides 1LoD on screening-related risks, supports AML & Sanctions methodology updates, and advises on RegTech developments. The team provides expert advisory support on AML and Sanctions frameworks, helping the First Line of Defense (1LoD) operationalise controls in line with regulatory expectations. Focus areas include pre-transaction screening, name screening, and adverse media screening. Success in the role of Senior Screening Specialist requires subject matter expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across functions and jurisdictions.

Job description
 As Senior Screening Specialist you will drive the continuous enhancement of ING’s global FCC Screening control framework by leading governance and change initiatives, strengthening operational effectiveness, challenging and advising 1LoD stakeholders, optimizing KPI and risk assessment frameworks, supporting senior FCC leadership, and facilitating the migration of screening activities to strategic hubs.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

You will lead the enhancement of ING’s global FCC Screening framework by driving governance, KPI maturity, issue remediation, policy implementation, and strategic change initiatives:

  • Act as the primary liaison for 1LoD AMS Screening change initiatives with Group FCC, driving enhancements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the screening framework. Lead the review and optimization of AMS Screening Risk-Based Assessments (RBAs) and provide FCC recommendations to strengthen process maturity.
  • Apply technical expertise to enhance ING’s FCC Screening KPI Framework globally, with a focus on sustainable and efficient implementation.
  • Provide structured challenge and advice to 1LoD to support timely and quality closure of global screening issues.
  • Provide oversight and challenge to ensure Anti-Financial Crime policies are effectively operationalised by 1LoD, supporting compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide operational and governance support to the Global Head of FCC and Head of FCC Screening, incl. management packs, meeting coordination, and follow‑up tracking.
  • Support the migration of Screening activities to the hubs

Specific Knowledge and Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), including Screening, AML, Sanctions.
  • Experience reviewing and challenging Risk-Based Assessments (RBAs), control designs, KPIs/KRIs, and management information.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale FCC transformation, remediation, or change initiatives across multiple countries or business units.
  • Experience with operational migrations, target operating model implementation, or shared service / hub transitions.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of tailoring messages to diverse audiences from analysts to senior management.
  • Proven experience operating in complex international environments and coordinating across multiple countries and functions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including interaction with senior management and governance committees.
  • Preferably certified (e.g., ACAMS or ICA AML Diploma).
  • Fluent in English.
