About the Opportunity

VicRoads is seeking a commercially focused and highly influential Senior Sales Manager to lead the development and execution of our OEM-led growth strategy across Victoria.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced automotive sales leader to drive the adoption of Custom Plates products throughout dealership networks by building strategic partnerships with automotive manufacturers and influencing dealer engagement. Leading our Dealer Sales Team, you will be responsible for growing market share, increasing product penetration, and delivering sustainable revenue growth through strong stakeholder relationships and innovative commercial initiatives.

Reporting into the leadership team, you will develop and execute a top-down OEM strategy that strengthens manufacturer partnerships and drives dealer adoption of Entry Plate products across Victoria.

You will work closely with automotive OEMs, dealer principals, and dealership sales teams to influence behaviours, create commercial opportunities, and increase the conversion from General Issue plates to Custom Plates products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a strategic OEM engagement plan to drive product adoption and revenue growth

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with automotive manufacturers and dealer groups

  • Influence dealer behaviour and increase Custom Plates penetration across dealership networks

  • Identify and implement innovative sales initiatives, incentive programs, and commercial partnerships

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Dealer Sales Team, including two direct reports

  • Drive accountability, performance, and consistent execution across multiple territories

  • Monitor market opportunities and deliver strategies that support long-term growth objectives

  • Ensure alignment between OEM, dealer, and business priorities to maximise commercial outcomes

About You

You are an accomplished sales leader with extensive experience working within the automotive industry. You understand how OEMs and dealer networks operate and have a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from manufacturer head offices to dealership leadership teams.

You bring a strong commercial mindset, exceptional relationship-building capability, and a track record of delivering growth through strategic partnerships and targeted sales initiatives.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Significant experience working within the automotive industry, including OEM and dealer network environments

  • Proven sales leadership experience with a strong track record of revenue growth and market expansion

  • Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities

  • Demonstrated success influencing customer and partner behaviours to drive product adoption

  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams

  • Strong strategic planning and execution capability

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
