This role in summary

As an Analyst within Whirlpool’s SES Model Based Design organization,you will have the opportunity to Solves complex problems, provides new perspective/existing solutions. Understands relevant internal/external practices. Independent, minimum direction needed. May manage support employees; coordinate work, set priority, and coach/mentor team. Makes decisions within policy/procedure/business plan. In depth knowledge/experience in relevant field.

 

Your responsibilities will include

  • Develop dynamical physical systems models, to represent appliance behavior or a motor/motor control behavior

  • Sound understanding of motors and various motor control strategies

  • Capable of proposing sensored or sensorless control strategies for motors or appliances

  • Accountable for creation of libraries, capture and reuse of knowledge.

Participate in A0-A2 Process for advanced development projects which are run at a X-Platform level

  • Integration and preparation of plant models for different applications (MIL, SIL, PIL, HIL, PC Based Simulations)

  • Creates and uses simulation-based design methods to drive system optimization, improve module/component design and enhance product reliability. 

  • Uses planned experimentation tools and methods to support the physics-based approach to modeling and simulation. 

  • Accountable for the creation of libraries, capture and reuse of knowledge through models.

  • Strong documentation and ability to communicate complex concepts.

Minimum requirements

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION 

BE (5+)/ME (3+) degree in Engineering, Thermal, Mechanical, Chemical

PREFERRED INDUSTRY

Autmotice, Consumer electornics

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Engineering degree, advanced engineering degree preferred (preferably in Mechanical, Thermals, Chemical)

  • 5+ years Experience with industry standard modeling and simulation languages and tools - Modelica language, Simulink,  Ansys Tools, etc.  Desired experience on plant modeling with system level tools (for instance Dymola, OpenModelica, Maplesim, Simulink, Simscape); 

  • Good Experience with Matlab/Simulink (for example: matlab scripts, simulink functions (s-functions), building libraries, co-simulation of plant model and controls, Matlab App Designer,  Model and Software in the Loop analysis, etc…);

  • Familiarity with System Engineering principles and tools desired (Requirements, SysML, V&V).

  • Ability to work cross functionally and globally.

Additional information

  • Proficient in System Level attributes, trade off between attributes, product maps, FMEA for Platform he or she is working (excludign SBD)

  • Understand decomposition of Subsystem to Component level requirements

  • Able to connect Product Attributes / Features to DVPR & IDP during Project Execution

  • Basic Awareness of all Products / Platforms of Whirlpool

  •  Proficient subsystem level knowledge more then one & Expert in ONE subsystem

  •  Able to generate Inputs for System models of respective Platform
