Job description
"Pairs" is an online dating app used by more than 27 million people in Japan. Since launch, we have received success stories from over 900,000 people. Pairs is the first-in-market to offer 24/7 in-house customer service, including text and image monitoring, so our users' safety and security are always ensured.

We created Pairs to help singles discover new and interesting ways to find a life partner. In the United States, more than 1 in 3 couples met their partner online. In Japan more than 70 per cent of singles claim to have no partner.
As the number 1 online dating service in Japan, we're working hard every day to help singles find their true love. Since the release of Pairs in October 2012, we have helped to create opportunities for many users to find partnership and marriage. Pairs offers the opportunity to find an ideal partner that matches one's own values through various search features and a well-developed MyTag.
Everyday, we receive many reports of successful matches from across Japan and from overseas. It is our hope that more and more opportunities for wonderful relationships will be created, which inspires us to improve our service every day.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Product Manager to take full ownership of delivering impactful app and web features. In this role, you will bridge business objectives with user needs through effective stakeholder management, partnering closely with senior leadership (including CxOs) to shape direction and drive measurable impact across both the Japanese and global markets.

What you'll do:
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle: Identify and validate new opportunities through market/user research, write clear and actionable Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), collaborate with design and engineering throughout the development process, and conduct post-release data analysis to evaluate performance and inform continuous improvements.
  • Shape and deliver the product roadmap: Build a forward-looking roadmap that reflects both business priorities and user needs, ensuring clarity of vision across teams. Communicate the roadmap effectively to align executives, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, and adapt it as market conditions and insights evolve.
  • Drive stakeholder management at all levels: Partner with CxOs and senior executives by presenting persuasive business and user logic, facilitating alignment across multiple functions. Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, secure buy-in for new initiatives, and provide clear, structured updates on progress and learnings.
  • Measure and track impact: Establish and monitor Key Growth Indicators (KGI) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI), reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly cadence. Leverage insights from data tools to drive accountability, optimize features, and ensure the team remains focused on measurable outcomes.
  • Enable organizational growth: Act as a mentor and coach for junior product managers, providing guidance on tools, frameworks, and best practices.

Tools we use:
