The Physicist works as part of the Physics team and in close collaboration with different technical disciplines (SE, Elec, Mech, SW, Algo), to develop laser optical systems and to support ongoing activities as part of Product Life Cycle.
Main Duties:
- Initiate & support the feasibility, design, implementation, integration, qualification and continuous engineering of Optical, Electro Optical and Laser based systems including dedicated optical fibers.
- Take an active role in the development process, representing physics team perspective: concept and feasibility studies, specifications definition, design reviews, and test reviews.
- Conducting lab tests for feasibility studies, root cause analysis, and design qualifications.
- Evaluate and extend new concepts as well as provide innovation, which can be transitioned into products. Conduct research-based studies related to light-tissue interaction and to lasing properties & performance and future capabilities.
- Design improvements to improve product field performance or to improve product gross margin. Identify opportunities for performance and capability enhancement.
- Concept and feasibility tests: design of experiments; run hands-on experiments; perform data analysis; present recommendation to the management.
- Use simulation tools to optimize lasing performance.
- Develop and improve quantitative measurements and experiment methodologies.
- Operate in a multi-tasking environment, leading in parallel various research, design, and engineering activities.
- Get to know trends and new technologies and clinical applications in the medical industry and academy.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D (or MSc with research experience) in Physics, Biophysics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Both analytical & experimental proficiency in physics/engineering.
- At least 5 years of practical hands-on experience with complex optical systems for laser experiments and applications
