Senior Operations Manager, Wafer Fabrication, Raxium
About the Job
Raxium is the microLED technology, bringing the world's first monolithically-integrated, micron-scale and Red, Green, Blue (RGB) emitter solution to enable a new differentiated display products, ranging from Augmented Reality (AR) micro-displays to direct-view light-field displays with natural Three-Dimensional (3D) functionality. Our high-volume III-V Wafer Fab is a critical asset, and we are looking for a highly experienced operations leader to ensure its optimal performance and continued scalability.
Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.

- Maximize fab throughput by driving daily constraint mitigation for tools, labor, and material, identifying and resolving bottlenecks across the entire production flow.
- Direct all inbound, shipping, receiving, and internal material movement. Implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels for raw materials, consumables, and finished goods while mitigating obsolescence risks.
- Define, track, and drive key operational metrics (e.g., OEE, Cycle Time, Yield, WIP). Develop and present regular performance reports directly to executive leadership.
- Advocate a Lean manufacturing model. Lead and mentor teams to execute continuous efficiency projects that actively reduce waste and improve overall cycle times.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial), Materials Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12 years of experience in manufacturing operations leadership and scheduling within a wafer fabrication facility.
- 10 years of experience in people management.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
- Experience in SPC (Statistical Process Control) and its operational implementation for process monitoring and yield stability.
- Proven experience in managing the operational aspects of a larger III-V fab in the US or equivalent. Experience capacity planning and factory simulation within a complex, large-scale, high-mix/high-volume semiconductor environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, SQL, JMP) to drive data-based decisions for metrics and reporting.
- Excellent communication, people-management, and change management skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
