We believe there are many problems in the world in which robotics could play a significant role in making it easier, faster and safer for people to get things done. We’re looking for roboticists, designers, hardware and software engineers to help us explore these possibilities, develop breakthrough technologies, and build new products that could help millions of people.
As a Network Engineer, you will own the network lifecycle for next-generation robotic systems deployed across research labs, major global conferences, and unpredictable remote test environments. The impact you will have as an operational trailblazer will bridge the gap between complex corporate infrastructure and cutting-edge autonomous robotics hardware.
Artificial intelligence will be one of humanity’s most transformative inventions. At Google DeepMind, we are a pioneering AI lab with exceptional interdisciplinary teams focused on advancing AI development to solve complex global challenges and accelerate high-quality product innovation for billions of users. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, ensuring safety and ethics are always our highest priority.
Responsibilities
- Build scalable network models and shape policies to handle real-time teleop streams and robot log offloads.
- Optimize 5/6GHz RF bands and physical roaming frameworks for low-latency connectivity in complex 3D environments.
- Engineer reliable E2E wireless links in high-noise venues and align critical SOPs with hardware partners.
- Transform experimental lab setups into secure, least-privilege perimeters and negotiated firewall rules.
- Tune device drivers and network interface hardware to optimize connectivity for next-gen robotic fleets.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience with data center networking architecture, operations, and power distribution systems within mission-critical facilities.
- 8 years of experience in technical program management within consumer electronics, IoT, or robotics, with experience shipping hardware products.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with ROS/ROS2, simulation environments (Isaac Sim, MuJoCo), or on-device deployment (Jetson, TPU).
Summary
Manage network systems for robotic platforms, optimize connectivity, and ensure reliable operations.
