Senior Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, enhancing, and maintaining all networks, utilizing best practices. The ideal candidate will possess expert-level skills in Cisco routing, switching, UCS, VPN, and firewall technologies. S/he will have a minimum of five years of network infrastructure experience delivering design and operational excellence. In addition this experience will be backed with CCIE Routing/Switching or a CCIE Data Center certifications or equivalent experience. The responsibilities for this senior level position include planning, designing, implementation and the management of state-of-the-art data center, campus area network, wide-area network, and high speed Internet network services. In addition this position focuses on advanced troubleshooting, capacity planning, architectural design, implementation, and best practice assessments.

Required Certification and Education:
1. Current CCIE certification required
2. Bachelor's degree in an information technology-related field preferred and/or equivalent combination of career education and experience.

Required Experience/Skills:
1. Minimum of five years of full-time experience maintaining local-area and wide-area networks
2. Demonstrate ability to implement Cisco routers, switches, VPNs, and VLANs with a highly secure and highly available architectural design.
3. Understanding of network physical infrastructure such as patch panels, fiber cabling and network cable termination.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco network device configuration, operation, and maintenance.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Must be able to present technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
7. Expert level knowledge and experience with Cisco Nexus Switches (2k, 5k, 7k and 9k).
8. Expert level knowledge and experience with Cisco Catalyst 6500 VSS.
9. Strong administration experience with enterprise DHCP/DNS environments.
10. Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing/switching.
11. Experience with OSPF and BGP routing protocols.
12. Proficient with MS Visio and the MS Office Suite

5+ to 7 years experience

Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree

IDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will possess a CCIE. A CCNA may be considered if he/she has plans to obtain the CCIE within the near future.
