Senior Mechanical Inspector

 

Industry: Oil & Gas / Petrochemical
Employment Type: Project-Based

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform inspection and verification of mechanical equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
  • Inspect rotating equipment and machinery including pumps, compressors, turbines, engines, and associated systems.
  • Review fabrication, assembly, alignment, preservation, and installation of mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards.
  • Witness hydrotesting, pressure testing, functional testing, performance testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Verify compliance with QA/QC requirements, approved procedures, and industry codes and standards.
  • Review inspection reports, material certificates, test records, NCRs, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, clients, and project teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas projects with extensive experience in rotating equipment and machinery.
  • Proven experience inspecting:
    • Pumps
    • Compressors
    • Turbines
    • Engines
    • Mechanical Equipment Packages
  • Strong knowledge of international standards including:
    • ASME
    • API
    • ASTM
    • BS
  • Valid CSWIP 3.1 certification.
  • API 510 certification is mandatory.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is preferred.
  • API 653 certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical inspection, equipment testing, commissioning, and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience in refinery, petrochemical, LNG, EPC, offshore, and major Oil & Gas projects is highly preferred.
  • Must possess a valid passport and be willing to travel for international project assignments.
