Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

Facility Engineer acts as the technical lead responsible for day-to-day maintenance operations, contractor management, statutory compliance, and reliability of all facility systems.

The roles and responsibilities include

  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all facility equipment in accordance with OEM recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Ensure reliability and availability of all utility and facility systems through effective maintenance strategies.
  • Implement condition monitoring techniques to achieve zero unplanned equipment breakdowns.
  • Ensure all facility assets comply with safety regulations, statutory requirements, and corporate standards.

• Maintain valid statutory certifications, inspection records, and compliance documentation.

• Support audits, inspections, and statutory renewals.

• Ensure all standby utilities and critical equipment are periodically tested, operated, and maintained for operational readiness.

• Monitor the performance of electrical, HVAC, DG, UPS, compressed air, water, and other utility systems.

• Lead energy-saving initiatives, utility optimization projects, and resource conservation programs.

• Monitor utility consumption trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate closely with production, quality, EHS, administration, procurement, and other departments to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.

• Maintain a comprehensive asset register covering plumbing, fabrication, ELV systems, utilities, and other facility equipment.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdown history, repairs, and associated expenses.

• Analyze maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising reliability and safety.

• Conduct monthly reviews of facility KPIs such as equipment uptime, PM compliance, energy consumption, breakdown incidents, and maintenance costs.

• Develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps and drive continuous improvement.

• Enhance the technical competency of technicians and maintenance personnel through structured training programs.

• Facilitate new facility construction, infrastructure development, and building expansion projects.

• Ensure smooth execution, commissioning, and successful completion of projects within planned timelines, budget, and quality standards.

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
