Senior Mainframe System Programmer zOS ISV

The Mainframe Systems Programmer provides support for on-going projects that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and other 'system' software. Also, the Maintenance and debugging of systems software. Coordination and the IOGEN work for new MF hardware. Research and evaluation of new software and hardware products, assisting team members and other areas with technical questions and problem resolution. Monitoring and tuning of systems software. Functional knowledge, use of z/OS components and detailed knowledge of support products such as tape management, scheduling, security, monitoring systems, etc.

JOB ROLE SUMMARY
 

The Mainframe Systems Programmer provides support for ongoing projects that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and other 'system' software. • Regularly lead self and others and/or established as Product SME and/or established as a specialist

• Ability to perform the skill set of a Mainframe System Programmer

• Ability to perform complex ISV installations

• Ability to perform and lead complex projects

• Worked on CA Chorus Software for downloading products and maintenance.

• Upgrade & Maintenance of Quickref.

• Upgrade & Maintenance of JOBSCAN.

• Upgrade & Maintenance of CA-JCLCHECK.

• Upgrade & Maintenance of Software Automation and Net View product.

• Upgrade & Maintenance of IBM Fault Analyzer.

• Upgrade & Maintenance of TWS.

• Installation & Maintenance of APA.

• Performing SMPE procedure.

• Performing APF, Linklist, and parmlib changes as per the requirement.

• Performing License Key Apply for ISV Products.

• Apply Program Temporary Fix (PTF), Ordering PTF.

• Worked on z/OS system Cloning.

• Have good knowledge on IPL’s procedure.

• Performing SDSF requests.

• Performing Health-checking & Tech Spec.

• Production support, 24/7 on-call Problem and change management.

• Installing ISV products like Broadcom, Compuware, BMC, etc

• Works directly with Hardware and Software vendors on new solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS
 

Required Ten years of hands-on/industry experience Preferred.
Ability to perform the skill set of a Mainframe System Programmer
Ability to perform complex ISV installations
Ability to perform and lead complex projects
Ability to mentor and show leadership qualities
Any reference to years of experience should be in the UK / US
