Job Description:

Job Summary

We are looking for a coastal geomorphologist. This position will support the Earth Science, Geography and Coastal Engineering majors, as well as the Earth Science and Marine Science minors. The candidate will be expected to teach introductory courses in geology and oceanography each semester and upper-level courses in coastal geomorphology and coastal mapping.

Authority and Accountability

This faculty member reports to the Chair of the Department of Geography and Geosciences and does not have budgetary responsibility or authority over other SU employees.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • MS in Geography, Geoscience, or related field
  • Five or more years of full-time teaching at the undergraduate level
  • Experience teaching coastal processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • ABD/Ph.D. in Geology or Geography
  • Experience with coastline modeling
  • Experience with beach profiling and monitoring

Additional Job Information:

The position is a Contingent II, full-time, exempt position.
