Sr. Laboratory Technician, Quality Control, Perfumery

Somerset, NJ, US

2nd Shift (2:00pm to 10:30pm)

 

 

 

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Laboratory Technician, Quality Control, Perfumery to join our Quality Control team. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting maximum quality standards by managing daily incoming raw materials and finished products testing through complex analytical equipment and sensory evaluation techniques.

Leading the shift group by example while fostering safety and promoting continuous improvement is expected. Excellent communication, leadership and attention to detail are a must.

Your key responsibilities

  • Perform independently complex, routine and non-routine laboratory activities including analytical tasks and sample preparation. Testing of incoming raw material and finished products and approve/reject the product within the time stipulated.
  • Identify and troubleshoot common problems/issues encountered. Keep daily record and appropriate documentation on all laboratory work performed.
  • Capable to establish standardized procedures to the required level.
  • Assure compliance of SHE and proactively contribute to the improvement of laboratory processes and standards.
  • Independent and efficient use of all internal tools for data collection/recording and administration.
  • Experience in Sensory Odor techniques and GC & GCMS is preferred.

You bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant working experience.
  • Experience leading a workgroup directly or by influence.
  • Experience with Sensory Odor evaluation techniques and GC / GCMS results interpretation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and ethically within a multi-cultural team.
  • Must be willing to work 2nd shift (2:00pm to 10:30pm) Monday to Friday. Overtime by invitation including weekends and/or Holidays.
  • Prior experience with SAP, CoreDB, LIMS, Office 365 a plus.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish a plus.

 

 

 

The hourly rate provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly rate: $38.46 - $43.26
