You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.
As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.
The team is responsible for designing, building, and documenting the overall design language for YouTube products, including the development of standard components, interaction patterns, and brand expression.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide solutions.
- Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or high fidelity prototypes.
- Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.
- Advocate for the prioritization of design centered changes, refinements, and improvements.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience with interaction design in product design or UX design.
- Experience developing and maintaining scalable design systems, including the definition of reusable interaction patterns and UX frameworks.
- Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization.
- 2 years of experience leading design projects.
- Experience using agentic AI tools (e.g., Jetski or Gemini) to accelerate design workflows, scale asset production, or vibe code prototypes.
- Experience in shaping generative outputs and defining visual metaphors for AI (e.g., lighting, motion, and system).
