Position Summary

This role serves as a Senior HR Business Partner supporting enabling functions in China, including Finance, Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, etc. The role partners closely with business leaders to drive organizational effectiveness, talent strategies, and employee engagement, contributing to overall business success.

This position will support senior leaders (Band 10–12) and a population of approximately 300 employees across China. The role will work closely with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and Colleague Services to deliver integrated HR solutions. The position is based in Shanghai.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Business Partnership:
    Act as a trusted HR partner to leaders across Finance, Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, etc. Support the development and execution of HR strategies aligned with business objectives. Drive key annual HR processes such as Human Resources Review (HRR), compensation planning, and Employee Involvement Survey (EIS).
  • Organizational Effectiveness:
    Support organizational design and workforce planning initiatives. Analyze organizational metrics (e.g., spans & layers, labor cost, attrition) to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Contribute to talent development and succession planning efforts.
  • Manager & Leadership Support:
    Provide coaching and guidance to managers on people-related matters including performance management, employee relations, engagement, and team effectiveness. Escalate and partner on complex issues as needed.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    Build strong working relationships with business leaders and collaborate with HR COEs (Talent, Compensation & Benefits, L&D) and Colleague Services to deliver consistent HR solutions.
  • Employee Engagement:
    Support initiatives to enhance employee engagement and foster a positive workplace culture. Partner with leaders to interpret EIS results and implement action plans.
  • HR Analytics & Insights:
    Utilize HR data and analytics to provide insights and support decision-making. Monitor key metrics such as attrition, diversity, and organizational health.
  • Change Management:
    Support business transformation initiatives such as organizational changes, restructuring, and integration projects. Help drive communication and adoption of change.
  • HR Compliance & Employee Relations:
    Ensure compliance with local labor laws and company policies. Manage employee relations cases in partnership with legal and ER teams where appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8–10 years of HR experience, with solid experience in HR business partnering roles in multinational organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of core HR disciplines including talent management, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • Good business acumen and ability to translate business needs into HR solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; able to work effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Experience supporting change initiatives and organizational projects is a plus.
  • Proficient in both Chinese and English.
