Job description
Do you want to be part of the team enabling the evolution of secure systems for a connected world? As Senior Engineer Emulator System, you will be responsible for bringing our chip designs to life on an FPGA-based emulator as part of the agile tool team in Munich. The emulator is a core part of our Software Development Kits (SDKs) that enable our internal and external customers to develop and debug software for our secure micro-controllers.

Job Description
In your new role, you will:
  • Design, implement, test, and release FPGA designs that model our products
  • Synthesize product RTL code on FPGAs
  • Design enhanced debug features to support the debugging of our special security features
  • Collaborate with product designers in addressing FPGA design requirements
  • Support the FPGA concept of new designs
  • Contribute to our SDK, Integrate and verify the emulator components into a complete system
  • Analyze errors together with different hardware and software teams
  • Write tests to ensure the highest quality for our customers
  • Work on fixing bugs and adding improvements to our components 
  • Support the continuous integration and continuous deployment for the SDK 
  • Bring your knowledge into a multi-skilled Scrum team with possibilities to grow into new fields of interest (hardware, software, electronics)



Your Profile

As a Senior Engineer Emulator System, you manage your performance consistently and reliably. Furthermore, you clarify areas of responsibility, coordinate your work with colleagues, and regularly share your insights with them. Lastly, you see and understand the root causes of potential delays or quality defects and develop suitable solutions for them.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:
  • A degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • 3+ years of professional/industry experience
  • Experience in FPGA Development & Hardware description languages (e.g., VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog). Knowledge of ASIC design is a plus
  • Good understanding of the hardware architecture of microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex/RISC-V)
    and Assembly Language
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, and C
  • Optionally, you are familiar with the development of embedded software (e.,g. Keil Vision, VS Code) in a Windows/Linux environment
  • Worked with version management tools like GitLab and bug tracking tools like Jira~
  • Good to have: Clear Case know-how
  • Good communication skills and experience working in a (Scrum) team
  • Fluent in English
