Senior FP&A Manager

Job description

About the Role

This is not a traditional FP&A role. As Paraform's first dedicated FP&A hire, you will be the financial and strategic backbone of the company — owning FP&A end to end: the financial model, the budget, the planning systems, and the processes and structure the company plans and spends by. Where structure doesn't exist yet, you will create it. You will drive how we think about growth, marketplace economics, and capital allocation, serve as a trusted thought partner to the founders and leadership team, and own the narratives that shape how investors, partners, and the board understand our business.

You will operate at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations. This is a high-ownership role with a direct line to executive leadership and significant room to grow — including building out the FP&A team — as the company scales.

What you'll do

  • The forecast and budget, end-to-end. Build the annual budget from scratch and run monthly, quarterly, and annual planning across revenue, OpEx, headcount, and cash. You're accountable to leadership and the board for the integrity of every number in the model.

  • Process and structure. Create the operating rhythm the company plans and spends by – the planning calendar, budget vs. actuals reviews, headcount and spend approval workflows, and monthly business reviews. Much of this doesn't exist yet; you'll design it.

  • Planning infrastructure, from RFP to rollout. Own the selection and implementation of our planning platform end-to-end: run the RFP, evaluate vendors (Anaplan, Pigment, or similar), make the call, and lead the implementation — model architecture, data integrations, and the reporting layer that will scale with us through the next several stages of growth.

  • Marketplace economics & pricing. Own the source of truth for our unit economics — GMV, net revenue and take rates, recruiter payouts, cohort behavior, LTV/CAC, and payback — and partner with Sales and Marketplace Operations on pricing guardrails, enterprise deal economics, and recruiter incentives.

  • Executive business partnering. Be the senior finance partner to functional leaders across GTM, Product & Engineering, and Operations. Sit in the room when they make resource decisions, pressure-test their plans, and hold them to their commitments.

  • Board and investor reporting. Produce the board deck, monthly operating reviews, and investor reporting. Surface insights that change how the leadership team thinks — not just the variance to plan.

  • P&L ownership across the business. Drive initiatives to improve gross margin, optimize COGS, and increase operational leverage. You'll work hand-in-hand with our accounting team on revenue recognition (including gross vs. net dynamics), capital allocation, and cash flow management.

  • AI-native FP&A & scenario planning. Rethink the function with AI and automation — from variance analysis to reporting — so finance runs leaner and faster than a team many times its size. Build models to evaluate unit economics, ROI, and capital efficiency — and make the call on what we should do, not just present the numbers.

What we're looking for

  • 5–7 years in progressive positions within FP&A, investment banking, or consulting, with experience in operating finance at a high-growth tech company — ideally a marketplace or other transaction-based business.

  • You've owned FP&A end to end — or you're clearly ready to — including building a budget and planning process from scratch, not just maintaining someone else's model.

  • Demonstrated success selecting and implementing planning systems (Anaplan, Pigment, Adaptive, or similar) — you've run an RFP or led an implementation and know how to make tooling decisions that last.

  • Strong grasp of marketplace and SaaS metrics — GMV, take rate, net revenue retention, CAC/LTV, unit economics, rule of 40. Experience with both GAAP and non-GAAP reporting.

  • You've built complex, driver-based financial models from scratch and know how to defend every assumption in front of investors and executives.

  • Excel- and BI-native: you move fast in spreadsheets and know how to build dashboards that tell a clear story.

  • Extreme attention to detail — you obsess over accuracy, catch errors before anyone else sees them, and hold yourself to the highest standard of precision in every number, model, and deck.

  • Exceptional communicator — you write clearly, present with confidence, and translate numbers into narratives that drive decisions. You bring clarity and thrive in a culture that values intellectual honesty, speed, and excellence.

  • Excited to design and automate processes with AI rather than simply recreate stale playbooks; curious about and comfortable with modern finance stacks.

  • Energized by ambiguity and a fast-changing environment — you know what "building while scaling" feels like.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation

  • Premium Healthcare

  • Commuter Stipend

  • Lunch and Dinner catered on-site

  • Gym Membership

  • 401k

  • Flexible PTO

  • Bi-annual company offsites
