The Job

As Senior Financial Controller – Inventory & Logistics you will be responsible for managing and optimizing inventory-related costs across the organization. This role ensures accurate valuation of inventory, monitors cost variances, and supports strategic decision-making through detailed analysis and reporting. The position plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency. You are an expert on Goods Movement in SAP. You perform month end close tasks surrounding inventory provision, freight and duties accruals and COGS reconciliation.

You work closely with the Logistics team and the OPS team to ensure correct and accurate inventory cost entries.

You actively identify improvements in processes and implement them in practice. In doing so, you will liaise with stakeholders within the organization and other colleagues within stichd. You are part of the finance department and report to the Head of Finance.

Your Mission

  • You are able to take along the Finance team and convince others of the added value of changes/improvement; 

Inventory Valuation & Costing 

  • Ensure accurate and timely valuation of inventory in accordance with IFRS accounting standards. 
  • Maintain and update standard costs for products and materials. 
  • Analyze and reconcile inventory accounts monthly. 
  • Monthly preparation of any inventory provision. 

Cost Analysis & Reporting 

  • Monitor and report on inventory cost variances (e.g., purchase price, production, freight, duties etc). 
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and dashboards for management. 
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to inventory. 

Process Improvement & Controls 

  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory cost control processes. 
  • Collaborate with supply chain, sourcing, and operations to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Work closely with Finance, Sourcing, Operations, Product, Master data and IT to ensure data accuracy and process alignment. 
  • Support SAP system enhancements related to inventory and costing modules. 

Your Talent

  • You have a Master degree in Finance or Accounting and have several years of experience within a similar positions;
  • Entrepreneurial approach to role with high energy, initiative and innovation; 
  • Experience in a manufacturing, retail, or distribution environment; 
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS); 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong influencing and negotiating skills; 
  • Advanced problem-solving skills combined with solutions oriented thinking; 
  • Positive result driven attitude; 
  • Can do mentality; 
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in an international organization; 
  • Strong understanding of inventory valuation methods; 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; 
  • Experience in coaching of people; 
  • Experience in SAP is a must.

This role is based in Den Bosch, the Netherlands. Working remotely from other countries is not possible.
