This is an office-based, full-time, permanent position in Cebu City.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will lead a team of finance
professionals and ensure efficient and accurate execution of financial processes. You will
oversee and manage various financial aspects to ensure the entity’s financial health and strategic
success. Key responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, risk management, capital
management, financial reporting, cash flow management, investment decisions, financial
compliance, and providing strategic financial advice. This role maintains financial stability,
optimises resource allocation, and contributes to decision-making processes that align with the
organisation’s goals. Expertise extends to building and maintaining relationships with external
stakeholders, ensuring adherence to financial regulations, and offering valuable insights to
support overall business success and sustainability.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including but not limited to procurement,
account payables, account receivables, payroll, invoicing and collection, fixed assets,
and closing of monthly accounts.
• Conduct a comprehensive analysis of financial statements, including identifying
trends, evaluating key drivers, and assessing the impact of accounting policies.
• Develop complex financial models to forecast future financial performance,
incorporating factors such as seasonality, growth rates, and market conditions.
• Identifying and evaluating financial risks, such as credit, market, and operational risks,
and understanding their impact on financial statements.
• Evaluate investment opportunities and recommend strategic decisions regarding
capital allocation, incorporating techniques such as net present value (NPV) and
internal rate of return (IRR).
• Assist in developing long-term financial strategies aligned with the organisation’s
goals and analysing the financial impact of strategic decisions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements,
such as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC) regulations.
2. FINANCIAL REPORTING
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including but not limited to procurement,
account payables, account receivables, payroll, invoicing and collection, fixed assets,
and closing of monthly accounts.
•Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to internal and external
stakeholders in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Understanding and applying accounting standards for more complex transactions,
such as revenue recognition, leases, or financial instruments.
3. BUDGETING AND FORECASTING
• Develop budgets, including gathering stakeholder input, analysing historical data,
and identifying key drivers and assumptions.
• Utilise forecasting techniques such as trend, regression, and time series analysis to
generate accurate and reliable financial forecasts.
• Analyse budgeted financial information, identifying trends and providing meaningful
insights and recommendations to management.
• Create and maintain rolling forecasts that provide a dynamic view of future financial
performance.
• Prepare and present budget reports and presentations to management, highlighting
key findings, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with senior management and department heads to develop strategic
budgets aligned with the organisation’s goals and objectives.
• Build and utilise advanced financial models to perform scenario analysis and sensitivity
analysis and assess the impact of various factors on the budget.
• Forecast and analyse cash flows, including identifying cash flow gaps, optimising cash
management, and recommending strategies to improve liquidity.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the budgeting process, implement automation
tools, and streamline procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Design and implement performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to
track and evaluate budget performance and provide insights for course correction.
4. TAXATION AND AUDIT
• Assisting the CEO in tax planning activities, identifying tax-saving opportunities, and
providing recommendations to minimise tax liabilities.
• Plan and execute audit procedures, including risk assessment and control testing.
• Prepare tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures by accounting
standards.
• Review tax returns and related work papers to ensure accuracy and compliance with
relevant tax laws and regulations.
5. FINANCIAL PLANNING AND STRATEGY
• Manage cash flow, including monitoring cash balances, overseeing cash disbursements,
and optimising cash utilisation.
• Conduct regular cash flow forecasts and develop strategies to mitigate risks and
improve liquidity.
• Assisting the CEO in developing strategic plans and initiatives by providing financial
analysis, evaluating investment opportunities, and assessing their financial viability.
• Participating in evaluating and analysing investment projects, including conducting
cost-benefit analysis, calculating return on investment (ROI), and assessing risk.
• Develop and implement financial plans that align with the organisation’s strategic goals
through budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to ensure optimal allocation of
resources.
• Evaluate and assess the financial viability of a potential investment, whether in
new projects, acquisitions, or financial instruments, and their alignment with the
organisation’s goals
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other departments on financial strategy
and provide insights into the financial implications of options to aid in decision-making.
• Analyzing and optimising the organisation’s capital structure, including debt and
equity financing, to maximise shareholder value and minimise the cost of capital.
• Participating in financial due diligence, valuation, and integration activities for M&A
transactions, including assessing synergies and evaluating financial impact.
6. RISK MANAGEMENT
• Identify and mitigate financial and market risks and develop strategies that optimise
the organisation’s tax.
• Participate during audit reviews for the completion of financial audits to identify
opportunities for process improvement and gain insights to enhance financial controls,
reporting accuracy, and overall financial management practices.
• Assisting in identifying and managing operational risks, such as process inefficiencies,
technology vulnerabilities, and human error.
• Assist in designing and implementing risk governance structures and frameworks,
including risk policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms.
• Assisting in establishing and maintaining compliance frameworks, including policies,
procedures, and internal control systems, to ensure adherence to regulatory
requirements.
• Assist in monitoring and tracking the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures,
provide regular risk status updates, and prepare risk reports for management and
stakeholders.
• Assisting in developing and maintaining business continuity plans, including disaster
recovery strategies, to ensure the organisation can withstand and recover from
disruptive events.
7. POLICIES AND PROCESS MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE
• Adhere to relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements (BIR,
PEZA, SEC), stayed informed about changes in financial reporting regulations, and
made necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
• Managing the overall compliance program, including developing and implementing
compliance strategies, overseeing compliance activities, and ensuring adherence to
regulatory requirements.
• Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies, conduct compliance
audits, and prepare compliance reports for management and stakeholders.
• Leading efforts to standardise finance processes, utilising process improvement
methodologies and exploring opportunities for automation.
8. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND DATA ANALYTICS
• Identify opportunities for process automation and utilising tools or technologies to
streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Analyse and document existing processes, identifying gaps and improvement areas,
and leading or participating in process optimisation initiatives.
• Assist in identifying process inefficiencies and areas for improvement based on
available data and observation.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying causes of process issues or
inefficiencies and develop strategies for improvement.
• Leading or participating in change management initiatives associated with continuous
improvement efforts, including stakeholder engagement, communication, and
training.
• Design and implement performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
to track and evaluate the organisation’s performance and the effectiveness of
improvement initiatives.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement by fostering collaboration, knowledge
sharing, and adopting best practices across the organisation.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g.,
MBA, CFA) and professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
• Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Strong leadership skills with proven experience in managing and developing a team.
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial
reporting.
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles, regulatory compliance (BIR, PEZA),
and financial controls.
• Proficient in financial systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or other ERP (Enterprise
Resource Planning) platforms and Advanced Level in MS Excel.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong ethics, with the ability to manage confidential data.
