Senior Finance Analyst

Job Function Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst is part of the Financial Operations team at Millennium and is responsible for accounting, reporting, funding and variance and trend analysis of external Portfolio Manager teams globally.

This role demands an analytical approach to problem-solving, as well as outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills. It requires you have a keen eye for detail and able to deliver in a fast-paced, demanding environment while remaining calm under pressure.

This is a highly collaborative position, with ongoing engagement with internal finance and business management teams, as well as senior level members of the applicable external Portfolio Manager teams.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Oversee all expense related aspects throughout the external Portfolio Manager lifecycle from onboarding to budgeting to expense analysis/payment to reporting.

  • Analyze and prepare weekly expense estimates, and month-end accounting close schedules reconciling accruals and prepaid balances.

  • Provide guidance on budgeted recurring expenses, stipend allowances, and one-off startup costs.

  • Manage the expense reimbursement process.

  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting tools and enhance processes and analytics to facilitate informed decision-making.

  • Arrange and distribute reporting packages to Finance Management, Business Management and external Portfolio Manager’s Finance Team.

  • Mentor junior members of the team providing real-time guidance. Provide clear channels of communication to promote collaboration.

  • ​Ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 5-7years’ experience in Accounting or Finance (e.g., preferably with a background in financial services)

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration

  • Strong written and verbal communications with the ability to communicate with senior leaders

  • Proven ability to contribute to a demanding, global environment with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle time efficiently.

  • Quick learner with excellent attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy, quality, and strong ownership of work.

  • Possess a client service mentality, and a willingness to help others.

  • Highly analytical with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to balance multiple deadlines.

  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving, high-pressure, and constantly changing environment; high sense of urgency.

  • Strong MS Office skills, including Excel and Power Point, and reporting tools such as Tableau

The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $160,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
