Job Description:

Discipline, Grievances and Whistle-Blowing

  • Conduct investigations on misconduct and preparation of investigation report
  • Drafting of disciplinary correspondence and where necessary, assist in conducting Domestic Inquiry
  • Drafting approval papers for disciplinary sanctions and presentation to Management
  • Investigating reported grievances and whistleblowing complaints including recording statements from witnesses and evaluation of evidence for disciplinary action

Advisory and Representation

  • Research on employment laws, both local and overseas.
  • Assist in drafting of employment contracts for SDP Group operational jurisdictions and advise on employment laws / regulations
  • Assist in management of Court cases/ IR disputes

Human Rights

  • Assist in implementation of human rights initiatives in accordance with international standards.

Collective Agreement

  • Assist in researching and analysing best practices to develop comprehensive data to benchmark compensation package / employment terms for non-executive (bargainable) employees, including drafting of mandate papers for approval by Management.

Capability Building

  • Assist in developing training materials and programmes for business partners and operations as part of capability building on labour laws and effective management of employment issues.

Ad-hoc Duties

  • Assist in any ad-hoc duties when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Social Development, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in a similar role or field.

  • Experience in legal practice or with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) will be an added advantage.

  • Strong proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.

  • Working location will be based at Carey Island, with willingness and flexibility to travel to other assigned regions as required.

  • Must possess own transport and a valid driving license.
