Job Description:

Senior Engineer (Roads Maintenance)

Abu Dhabi, UAE

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop detailed Scope of Work (SOW) documents for road rehabilitation, and maintenance works, ensuring clear technical requirements, timelines, and compliance with UAE/local standards. 

• Conduct site inspections during construction and maintenance phases to verify adherence to approved designs, safety standards, and quality benchmarks. 

• Oversee and coordinate contractors’ activities, monitor daily progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely delivery within budget and contractual obligations. 

• Ensure that all works comply with local authority regulations, project specifications, and AD Ports Group standards; prepare progress reports and communicate updates to stakeholders. 

• Monitor and report cash flow forecasts accurately and on time. 

• Analyze and report variances between planned and actual costs in monthly reports and support the team in identifying corrective/recovery actions for the following month. 

• Check and verify contractor payment applications/invoices, providing clarifications and supporting the approval workflow. 

• Provide cost-related information to the Budget Tracker and other management reports. 

• Support the development of the annual budget plan for the Facilities Management department, ensuring alignment with operational and business needs.

• Any other works as assigned by Management.

• Coordinate and supervise contractor teams executing road maintenance works.  

• Ensure agreed work is completed satisfactorily; follow up on any defects or non-compliance.  

• Enhance communication with colleagues, contractors, and service providers.

• Provide guidance and support to junior staff in road maintenance operations.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. 

• Strong knowledge of roads maintenance, inspection protocols, and contract administration.

• Written and spoken English is essential; Arabic language skills are an advantage.

• Minimum 10 years, including 5 years in UAE.

• 5 years’ minimum experience in road/highway infrastructure engineering. 

• Experience in road O&M, construction supervision, cost control, and contract administration.
