Job description

Senior Director, US Hispanic PR

Location: Remote

Los Angeles, NYC, MIA preferred

Our Mission.

Our mission is to unlock the business value and cultural impact of historically underestimated audiences.

What is WORTHI?

WORTHI is a full-service cultural connections agency, where we grow brands and build IP by harnessing the massive influence, buying power and sheer size of underestimated audiences.

Our Unique Approach

At WORTHI, we implement an ethnographic marketing approach into everything we do. Ethnography is the study of people and cultures, and we steep ourselves in the behaviors and desires of specific communities, and create the cultural relevance between their unique needs, and a brand’s unique story, to create a lasting bond. Why? Because these audiences influence and define broader culture and offer inarguable and extensive bottom line value to brands, and ultimately, their business longevity depends on their adoption… This is growth marketing. Full stop.

THE JOB.

The Senior Director will report into the VP, PR, and lead the growing U.S. Hispanic division of our Publicity team, bringing a high level of strategy and experience to the organization. They will be an innovative thinker and disruptor who has the ability to guide clients, internal teams and creative partners toward solutions resulting in impactful earned results. Being fully bilingual with the ability to read, write and translate press materials in English and Spanish is mandatory. An understanding of the role influencers and other key opinion leaders play in the PR space is also critical, as is having an informed POV on the ever-changing media landscape.

We believe that experience is measured in the things you’ve done, the risks you’ve taken, and the perspectives you’ve cultivated and place more value in that vs. number of years worked. But, generally looking for a candidate with at least 7-9 years of in-house or agency experience in entertainment, tech, product and/or consumer PR, with a targeted and proven focus on the U.S. Hispanic audience. This includes strong familiarity of prominent Hispanic outlets and journalists and an in-depth understanding of the U.S. Hispanic consumer. The candidate will be instrumental in expanding and fostering our growing roster of clients and oversee the wider team and departmental workstream inclusive of: account management, client relations, team development, day to day tactics, media relations and overall campaign execution on our publicity team.

This person must be forward thinking with exceptional verbal and written communication, having the ability to articulate a strong POV and inspire clarity and confidence to align stakeholders both internally and externally. We’re looking for an executive who is proficient at delegation, budget oversight, organization and prioritizing tasks among themselves and their team. There must be a willingness to get one's “hands dirty” and a natural passion and deep understanding of PR as a whole. This person will be a self-motivated team player who will be reliable, resourceful, open to growth, accountable and will operate with an open, “can do'' and strategic mindset.

You’re entrepreneurial, eager to grow, learn and inspire others. Someone who can both navigate ambiguity, and also thrive in it. Every day here is different, and the business is constantly evolving, so we want someone truly energized by that.

THE TEAM.

The PR team partners deeply with our roster of clients to provide them with innovative and impactful strategies to create narratives and/or shift perceptions around their brands, products, services or IP through earned media. The earned media landscape is constantly shifting. Less outlets, shrinking staff, more paywalls, and a constantly unpredictable cultural ecosystem. Because of that, this is a team of curious, adaptable innovators who constantly evolve and shape their strategies to maximize impact in an ever-changing environment. We're a hybrid of consumer PR professionals, entertainment publicists, and talent relations specialists who know how to flex between all three to benefit our clients. We provide an unmatched level of partnership to our clients, and seek to be fully ingrained in their business challenges so we can provide the most effective solutions, sage counsel, and candid guidance.

THE HUMAN.

The candidates we’re looking for:

  • Embody Excellence
  • Lead With Empathy + Respect
  • Do The Right Thing
  • Keep it 💯
  • Insatiable Curiosity
  • Creative AF
  • Multipliers, not Diminishers
  • Deep Rooted Passion
  • Fail Fast
  • Partnership not Vendorship

LIFE AT WORTHI.

We believe strongly that (1) the more diverse our people are, the better our work will be and (2) we want you to be passionate about your work, but also passionate about life and have ample room to explore those passions outside of work. As an employee, you can expect:

  • A supportive, inclusive atmosphere and a team that values your contributions
  • An attractive and competitive compensation package
  • A generous and well-rounded benefits program featuring PTO, comprehensive medical benefits, cell phone compensation, 401k and much more
