We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director, International Trade Compliance!
We are looking for a senior trade compliance professional to lead and grow the company’s International Trade Compliance (ITC) organization. In close coordination with the VP—International Trade Compliance, the team enables and shapes global business strategies, by providing critical trade compliance guidance, obtaining effective export authorizations, and facilitating trade-compliant global operations. The person in this role will be entrepreneurial and collaborative, focused on innovation, building relationships and driving strategy across multiple functions while anticipating and addressing evolving global risk. The successful candidate will have deep trade compliance subject matter expertise and experience, excellent skills as a business and government liaison, and a proven track record as a people and program leader. Strong candidates will demonstrate flexibility, creativity, initiative, perseverance, resourcefulness, a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize activities in a dynamic environment, and a sense of humor. This position reports to the Vice President leading ITC enterprise-wide, and to senior GA-ASI leadership.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In close coordination with the VP—International Trade Compliance, lead and manage provision of strategic trade controls support across the company - identifying potential issues, developing solutions, and providing guidance to senior management to ensure that trade compliance processes strategically enable compliant business execution.
- Lead and manage a team of trade compliance experts, who:
- Develop and execute export authorization strategies for global marketing, sales, support, offshore procurement, and manufacturing of defense and dual use articles.
- Evolve, maintain and implement trade compliance policies and procedures.
- Implement trade control licensing, classification and operations/shipment processes
- Carry out trade compliance assessments and reviews.
- Provide trade compliance training and guidance for company personnel.
- Monitor regulatory developments and manage effective relations with appropriate government and industry trade controls personnel, ensuring that the company's positions and requests regarding regulatory policy, licensing and operations are conveyed, understood and accepted.
- Drive continuous trade compliance program improvement, by developing and monitoring performance metrics and leveraging analytics.
- Coordinate across the General Atomics enterprise trade compliance team and with other enterprise stakeholders to ensure trade compliance program, strategy and execution alignment.
- In close coordination with the VP—International Trade Compliance, develop and implement ITC organizational development strategy, with talent development/pipelines and coaching/mentoring.
- Serve as an Empowered Official for the company
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
