UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a UOB-wholly owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group. Started in 2021 with technology application design, development and support, InnoHub2 is expanding beyond technology services to deliver other business services to support the Bank’s growth ambition. Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the end-to-end software development and support for all work transitioned from Group (which could be projects, quarterly change requests, or L3 production fixes). This includes requirements analysis, solution design, development, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. You will work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
The role involves supporting and enhancing banking applications related to Limits, Collaterals (systems supporting the lodgement, revaluation, and release of collaterals and related documents for secured loans), Provisioning (systems supporting IFRS9 and Non-Performing Loan (NPL) financial provisioning), and Global CIF (Customer Information File) applications.
You will be expected to manage and deliver multiple projects, enhancement initiatives, and change requests in parallel, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and business objectives are consistently met.
Other responsibilities include:
Create technical design documents and solution specifications.
Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate documentation, reports, and project deliverables.
Develop and maintain system documentation to capture key design decisions and application architecture.
Perform analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of applications according to project and change request requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain software databases and tables, including application data structures, interfaces, and communication processes.
Develop, enhance, and support applications using AS400/IBM i technologies, RPGLE, Free Format RPG, SQLRPGLE, CL, COBOL, and DB2.
Utilize ARCAD and Rational Developer for i (RDi) for source management, development, build, deployment, and software lifecycle management.
Manage software releases, deployments, and DevOps-related activities for IBM i applications.
Review code changes delivered by contract developers and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
Manage vendor deliverables to ensure quality, compliance, and timely completion.
Test, maintain, troubleshoot, and recommend software improvements to optimize system stability and performance.
Collaborate with production support teams to perform root cause analysis, resolve production incidents, conduct code reviews, and execute unit testing.
Independently install, customize, integrate, and support software packages and applications.
Work effectively within cross-functional Agile delivery teams, utilizing project management and collaboration tools.
Support concurrent project deliveries, production issues, and change requests while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting business commitments.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 6–9 years of experience in Core Banking support and development.
- Strong experience in AS400/IBM i development using RPGLE, Free Format RPG, SQLRPGLE, CL, COBOL, and DB2.
- Experience with ARCAD and Rational Developer for i (RDi) development environments and deployment processes.
- Knowledge of Global CIF (Customer Information File) systems and customer data management processes would be highly advantageous.
- Extensive experience in production support, incident management, and service management environments.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple projects, enhancements, and change requests simultaneously.
- Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of IBM i architecture, database design, performance tuning, and software lifecycle management.
- Experience with ALDON change management tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Silverlake's banking software suite will be an added advantage.
- Prior experience in team leadership, technical leadership, vendor management, or people management would be a plus.
