About the Role
Redhorse is transforming how the Department of Defense (DoD) utilizes data and technology. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior-Level Data Scientist to join our team supporting the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). You will play a critical role in advancing data-driven decision-making across the DoD, designing and implementing robust data solutions that directly impact national security initiatives and investments. This is a high-impact position offering significant opportunity to shape the future of DoD data management and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Support acquisition missions by extracting insights from structured and unstructured datasets.
- Build predictive and prescriptive models to inform decision-makers and commanders.
- Translate analytic outputs into clear, mission-relevant recommendations.
- Develop machine learning, statistical, and optimization models.
- Conduct feature engineering, validation, and performance tuning.
- Clean, normalize, and integrate data from multiple classified and unclassified sources.
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards aligned with DoD data strategies.
- Understand how enterprise-level efforts align with the DoW Data Strategy.
Required Experience/Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree plus 7+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree plus 5+ years of experience.
- Experience with big data systems, including Apache Spark and Databricks.
- Experience with ETL processes.
- Experience with the Advana Data Environment.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or MilCloud 2.0.
- Experience engineering data pipelines across multiple security domains/classified networks.
- Experience with multiple coding languages.
- Active Secret security clearance.
The salary range provided for this position represents the anticipated base salary for successful candidates. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, security clearance level, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may participate in Redhorse's comprehensive benefits programs and may be eligible for performance-based or other incentive compensation, where applicable.
