An exciting opportunity has arisen for consulting / advisory services professional to play a key role in Frost & Sullivan’s TechVision practice, within Japan and the greater APAC region. This is a key position that requires the candidate to help build our expertise through developing insightful strategic research which will be used to support client engagement and project delivery.

 

The Senior Consultant holds full responsibility for ensuring project management of client engagements, the integrity of strategic and tactical recommendations and the development of detailed technology/business/market strategies. The Senior Consultant will also be the definitive point of contact for clients and will be required to demonstrate expert knowledge of the markets and develop strong business partnerships. The key measure of success is the repeatable business that the Senior Consultant can generate with specific clients, through Frost & Sullivan’s research and consulting offerings.

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for developing, managing and delivering strategic consulting engagements related to pre-commercialized and emerging technologies and megatrends.
• To provide global technology and trends-related analysis, custom consulting, growth consulting (strategy consulting), with some emphasis on market research and market forecasts.
• The Senior Consultant will serve as the primary analyst on most projects, play a supporting research role and manage project teams of internal consultants/analysts. Sometimes the consultant will hold full responsibility for the leadership of consulting engagements, ensuring the integrity of strategic & tactical recommendations and the development of detailed business/market strategies. The Senior Consultant can also at times be the definitive point of contact for clients and will be required to demonstrate expert technical knowledge and develop strong business partnerships.
• Project Leadership - Manage project teams and ensure the delivery of major technology and trends-related consulting engagements from initial scoping discussions to completion. Confidently present and communicate project outcomes at C-level.
• Research and Strategic Evaluation - Develop technical intellectual property and powerful, actionable strategic recommendations based on a profound understanding of the Client's markets/industry.
• Client Relationship Management:

a) Author strategic technology and / or trends profiles /presentations based upon focused technical and trends-related research, whilst interpreting/analyzing key data and presenting accurate results at a senior level.

b) Fulfill consulting engagements as either a lead analyst or as a project manager as required by the specific engagement.

c) Develop client engagement skills by working closely with senior consulting team members of Frost & Sullivan.

d) Regular client liaisons, client meetings to expand client base etc.

 

• Internal Development - Contribute to Frost & Sullivan's consulting offering, standards and processes.
• Industry Management:

a) Consistently meeting client expectations on consulting fulfillment.

b) Incremental topline and bottom line value of projects.

 

• Domain Expertise

a) Act as an expert in technology field and advisory function.

b) Presenting in conferences/Knowledge Partnership.

c) Interaction with technology generators (e.g., research labs, universities, start-ups)

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a strong expertise across technology fields, preferably with an advanced degree in a technology or science-related field. Business consulting experience with a thorough understanding of consulting methodologies is also desired. Proven success with direct client interaction, custom research project fulfillment and a pro-active, methodical and innovative working practice is essential, with a proven ability to deliver accurate results within a fast paced, client focused environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional Presentation skills.
• Time Management skills
• Previous consulting/ lead analyst experience within a Consulting or Advisory business environment.
• Exposure to consulting methodologies and strategy development
• Articulate with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Should possess relevant experience of 2 – 5 years.
• Candidates from a consulting industry will be preferred. A relevant post graduate qualification (M.Tech,M.Sc, MBA)
