Job description

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant / Specialist Pathologist to join its diagnostic services department. This is an excellent opportunity for highly qualified pathologists with expertise in anatomic and/or clinical pathology to contribute to accurate diagnosis, multidisciplinary patient care, and laboratory quality excellence.

We are looking for candidates holding UK CCT, American Board Certification, Australian Fellowship, Western European Board Certification, or South African Fellowship, with significant post-qualification experience in a reputable tertiary care hospital.

  • Examine and interpret histopathology, cytopathology, hematopathology, and clinical pathology specimens.
  • Provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports to support patient management.
  • Perform gross examination and microscopic evaluation of surgical specimens and biopsies.
  • Interpret laboratory findings and correlate them with clinical information.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and tumor board discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory accreditation standards, quality assurance, and quality control protocols.
  • Supervise laboratory personnel, residents, and junior pathologists where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate pathology records and laboratory documentation.
  • Contribute to departmental audits, research, teaching, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated with advancements in pathology, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory medicine.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
  • MD, DNB, FRCPath, CCT, American Board, or equivalent qualification in Pathology.
  • UK CCT, American Board, Australian Fellowship, Western European Board, or South African Fellowship preferred.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of post-board experience in pathology within a recognized tertiary care hospital.
  • Experience in histopathology, cytopathology, frozen sections, and laboratory quality management.
  • Subspecialty expertise (e.g., molecular pathology, hematopathology, dermatopathology, gastrointestinal pathology, or cytopathology) is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is an added advantage.
