Job description

As a Senior Casualty Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter you will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders, including cedents, brokers, and actuarial teams, to develop tailored reinsurance solutions. You will also play a critical role in market development, risk management, and portfolio optimization.

Your Impact:

  • Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal casualty reinsurance treaties, assessing risk exposures, pricing, and terms.
  • Develop and implement underwriting standards and best practices to maintain portfolio profitability.
  • Manage a portfolio of casualty reinsurance treaties, ensuring alignment with profitability and growth objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth portfolio analysis to identify opportunities for optimization and diversification.
  • Assess and manage treaty-related risks, developing and executing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and underwriting best practices.

Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, actuarial science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (15+ years preferred) in casualty and workers’ compensation reinsurance underwriting.
  • In-depth knowledge of casualty insurance products and underwriting principles.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected annual pay range for this position is between $200,000 to $300,000 plus discretionary bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Pay Range:

$200,000 - $300,000 Annual
