We make health happen

Join The Bridles, a brand-new, state-of-the-art care home in Wincanton. Built for the future, we provide residential, nursing and specialist dementia care.

This isn’t just another care role — it’s your chance to help shape a new home, build a team culture, and set the standard from the very beginning.

With beautiful surroundings, smart technology, and a real focus on comfort and connection, The Bridles is somewhere you’ll be proud to work.

Why nights at The Bridles?

If you enjoy calmer environments, meaningful one-to-one care, and taking real ownership of your shift — nights are where you thrive.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you’ll lead from the front, running the unit overnight and making a genuine impact on residents’ comfort, safety, and wellbeing.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of the night shift while supporting both residents and your team:

  • Lead and coordinate the unit overnight

  • Support clinical care alongside the Nurse (meds, observations, care plans)

  • Guide and mentor Care Assistants on shift

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care

  • Build strong relationships with residents and families

  • Ensure smooth, confident handovers

What we’re looking for

  • NVQ Level 3 in Care (or working towards it – we’ll support you)

  • Experience as a Senior or ready to step up

  • Confident leading a shift and supporting others

  • Calm, compassionate and organised — especially at night

  • Passion for delivering truly personalised care

Why join Bupa?

We don’t just support residents — we support you.

  • Free meal on every shift

  • Wagestream – access pay early

  • Interest-free annual travel loan to enable the purchase of public transport annual season tickets

  • 24/7 health support (GP, physio, mental health)

  • £350 annual healthcare allowance

  • 28 days holiday

  • Ongoing training & career development

  • Enhanced sick pay + pension

  • Family-friendly benefits

  • Gym and lifestyle discounts

Why Bupa?

At Bupa, there are no shareholders — our focus is entirely on people.
We’ve been caring for over 75 years, and we’re here to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives.

We also believe in creating workplaces where everyone can “Be You at Bupa” — inclusive, supportive and genuinely welcoming.

Bupa is a Level 2 Disability Confident Employer. This means we aim to offer an interview/assessment to every disabled applicant who meets the minimum criteria for the role. We'll make sure you are treated fairly and offer reasonable adjustments as part of our recruitment process to anyone that needs them.
