Since 1993 Datafied has been a leading document retrieval and data management company, striving to help our clients reduce the cost and risk associated with managing their health data.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Business Analyst to serve as a key liaison between our Software Development and Operations teams. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements, ensure alignment across teams, and help drive the successful delivery of features that enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation
    • Work with stakeholders (Product, Operations, Compliance, and Engineering) to elicit, document, and prioritize business and system requirements.
    • Create clear and concise documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, process flows, and use cases.
    • Translate complex operational needs into technical requirements for the development team.
  • Feature Definition & Communication
    • Define and document key features for the medical chart retrieval platform, including workflows for provider outreach, patient data collection, data quality validation, and compliance tracking.
    • Ensure traceability of requirements from business needs through to implemented features.
    • Facilitate communication between development and operations teams to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Act as a bridge between Operations (who manage retrieval logistics, payer/provider interactions) and Development (who build tools, APIs, and platforms).
    • Provide operational insights to developers and gather feedback on feature feasibility and timelines.
  • Process Improvement & QA
    • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by creating test cases, coordinating testing activities, and validating feature performance.
  • Healthcare Compliance & Data Sensitivity
    • Ensure all documentation and solutions comply with HIPAA, HEDIS, and other relevant healthcare regulations.
    • Understand and document data flows related to PHI (Protected Health Information) and ensure appropriate security and privacy standards.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in healthcare IT, health plans, or medical records environments.
    • Familiarity with chart retrieval processes, HEDIS reporting, or risk adjustment a plus.
  • Skills
    • Strong understanding of healthcare operations and clinical data workflows.
    • Proficient in tools such as Jira, Confluence, draw.io, Excel.
    • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders with varying priorities.
