Join CommBank’s Structured Trade Finance team within Market Operations, part of the Chief Operations Office. The team is responsible for delivering Structured Trade and Supply Chain Finance products that support our Trade Finance teams across Institutional Banking & Markets and Business & Private Bank clients in Australia and offshore.
 

The role

As a Senior Associate, Structured Trade Finance, you will support clients across the operational management of Structured Trade, Working Capital, Supply Chain Finance and Receivables Finance products. You will help ensure client requirements are met while supporting the broader Trade Finance businesses.

You will work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders and clients on both new-to-bank and existing facilities, supporting facility implementation, transaction management and pre-operational checks for structured trade transactions. You will also maintain strong awareness of commodity markets and their relevance to domestic and international trade activities.

 

On any given day, you will:
 

• Provide high-quality service and operational support to clients across Structured Trade Finance, Working Capital and Supply Chain Finance products.
• Process and manage structured inventory transactions in line with credit approvals, policies, procedures and operating guidelines.
• Support Trade Finance sales channels and product specialists with facility implementation, transaction execution and client enquiries.
• Complete pre-operational checks and ensure transactions are managed with strong attention to control, compliance and risk requirements.
• Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of operating procedures for new and existing client facilities, including audit and compliance requirements.
  
   

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

Strong knowledge of Structured Trade Finance products, including inventory finance and supply chain finance, with an understanding of related risks, controls and mitigating actions. You will bring strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to communicate complex matters clearly with clients, stakeholders and internal teams.
 

You will also bring:
 

• A willingness to learn, adapt and take on new challenges in a complex operational environment.
• Knowledge of financing hard and soft commodity products through structured trade finance.
• A broad understanding of traditional trade finance products and processes.
• Familiarity with Working Capital and Structured Trade Finance products, including Inventory Finance and Supply Chain Finance.
• Broad awareness of AML, KYC and operational risk themes.
