About the Role
Are you an AI/ML expert ready to drive strategic initiatives and innovation with significant business impact?
Trimble's Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner (AECO) segment is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our Construction Management Solutions (CMS) department. This is a senior technical leadership role for an individual recognized as a technical authority in AI/ML, capable of shaping organizational strategy and delivering significant business impact.
What You'll Do:
Lead the development and deployment of advanced deep learning models to solve complex, real-world problems at scale.
Strategically curate and maintain effective datasets, driving data quality initiatives.
Design and build multi-agent AI systems, focusing on orchestration, task delegation, reasoning, and inter-agent communication.
Leverage Microsoft Semantic Kernel or other similar frameworks to implement intelligent autonomous agents with strong reasoning capabilities.
Develop effective prompting strategies to optimize LLM outputs across reasoning, creativity, and reliability dimensions.
Evaluate agent and LLM performance using benchmarking, safety, fairness, and Microsoft evaluation frameworks.
Integrate AI agents with AI Services (Language, Speech, OpenAI, Cognitive Search) to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Build observability frameworks (logging, metrics, tracing) to monitor agent performance in real time.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable ML tasks, and deploy, iterate, and scale AI orchestration systems into production.
Define and drive MLOps best practices, including advanced containerization, model versioning, and monitoring.
Stay at the forefront of machine learning research, adapting breakthroughs to production code.
Optimize complex ML models and agents for extreme performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Serve as a technical expert and thought leader, influencing internal and external stakeholders.
Apply deep learning to cutting-edge areas such as VR, AR, AI, and robotics.
Drive AI-driven financial analysis for automated invoicing, payroll, and bank reconciliation.
What Skills & Experience You Should Have
Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field with 7 years of expert-level AI/ML experience.
Proven track record as a Principal or Lead Machine Learning Engineer with extensive production-ready ML work.
Proven expertise in multi-agent systems design and orchestration patterns implementation.
Strong background in prompt engineering for LLMs, including advanced techniques to control and refine model behavior.
High-level proficiency in C# for developing robust and scalable agentic workflows,
Hands-on experience with Semantic Kernel or similar framework for building agentic workflows.
Deep expertise in generative AI models (e.g., LLMs, diffusion models) and their practical applications.
Proficiency in Python (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face)
Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks and methods for testing accuracy, safety, and fairness.
Solid understanding of Azure AI services: Azure OpenAI, Speech, Cognitive Search, and related Cognitive Services.
Good engineering practices: CI/CD, testing, version control, and cloud-based deployment.
Solid grounding in data structures, advanced data modeling, and complex software architecture.
Exceptional practical statistical sense, with a proven ability to design and conduct rigorous experiments.
Superior algorithmic and problem-solving skills, capable of tackling unique and highly complex challenges.
Proven ability to lead others to solve highly complex problems independently.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas and influencing senior executive levels.
Experience with Responsible AI principles (fairness, interpretability, transparency).
Expertise in MLOps, AIOps, and integrating AI into DevOps pipelines.
Extensive experience with computer vision techniques for image/drawing analysis.
Experience with vector search technologies.
Fluency in English is a must.
