Job description

As Product Owner your key responsibility is working within an Agile development team to come up with powerful solutions to business problems within the TeamMate software. Day to day activities include being a liaison between Senior Level Product Management teams in Tampa, Florida, USA and Development resources located in Pune. You will be working with developers and quality assurance to ensure requirements are understood as well as assisting in documentation of user stories and defects.  Additionally, this role also plays the part of a scrum master for the team to help facilitate meetings and ensure non-technical blocks are being addressed. The goal is to eventually become well versed in the product, markets, and development process to lessen communication between US based Product Management teams and act as a Product Owner that can represent the voice of the customer on an agile development team.

Additional ongoing activities could include involvement in various Product Management activities like contextual design, user focus groups, conferences, and surveys that are done to validate the direction of the software.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

Primary responsibilities:

  • Work with US based Product Management teams to understand features and enhancements being built by Pune based Agile development teams. From there, document stories and low level detailed requirements for all items being built by your team.
  • Participates in development feature team activities to assist and grow into the Product Owner role
  • Helps setting up data for user acceptance testing
  • Participates in user acceptance testing under the direction of the Product Management
  • Assists with research activities under the direction of the Product Management
  • Contributes to organizational success by sharing subject matter expertise when the opportunity arises; writing and maintaining user documentation, system protocols, procedures, and reference material.
  • Represents Wolters Kluwer by developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of Wolters Kluwer products, industry trends and general business and financial acumen through various sources and initiatives; communicating in a professional, compelling, and articulate manner of speech, writing and formal presentation; behaving in ways that demonstrate corporate core values and culture; developing professional and positive relationships with customers and colleagues; and maintaining a reputation of competence, integrity and professionalism.
  • Works in a supervisory capacity with team members, providing guidance and coaching to team members to grow members in their role.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, 
  • Minimum 7 years of business analysis experience, including:
    • Documenting use cases, requirements, activity diagrams
  • Working and presenting to various individuals at all levels of an organization
