Responsible for the most complex activities associated with general ledger, financial/operating reports, and budget analysis. This level requires broad knowledge of accounting practices and principles including the preparation of strategic recommendations to management. May coach less senior accountants. Role typically requires more than 5 years of experience.This position provides accounting support and analysis with emphasis on General and Administrative P&L and Balance Sheet impacts for the Perfection Retail Group US operations.
Responsibilities:
- Posts monthly journal entries primarily related to P&L and Balance Sheet impacts of General and Administrative related matters.
- Reconciles accounts, researches, and resolves problems.
- Performs variance analysis on areas of the business to ensure financial results are explainable.
- Fixed asset accounting, including entry of assets into system, determination of depreciation, request for asset additions, asset disposals, and recording of related entries.
- Updates and maintains local, state, and federal registrations/compliance working with authorities and Marmon corporate support teams.
- Complies with federal, state, local and anti-trust requirements and regulations including communication of concerns or unethical activities.
- Monitors and analyzes financial accounting data.
- Protects operations by keeping business strategies, trade secrets, employee payroll information and financial confidential.
- Fosters positive relationships with internal customers.
- Completes special projects as assigned by management.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.
- 4 or more years’ experience in Accounting/Finance related role
- Excellent communication skills and PC skills including Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Strong critical thinking and math skills.
- Strong time management and organization skill.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage time.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Flexibility and willingness to help where needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (any specific physical attributes or limiting factors to be accounted for):
Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards; substantial time is spent working on a computer
