Senior Accountant

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for the monthly closing including preparation of journal entries, importing of transactions from source systems, and posting of ledgers.
• Prepares general ledger account reconciliations
• Reconciles and analyzes various general ledger accounts
• Prepares monthly and quarterly sales/use and medical tax returns
• Assists with annual audit by preparing financial information and supporting schedules
• Maintains effective internal controls for all assigned responsibilities
• Applies accounting policies and principles to properly record, report, and maintain financial data
• Calculates rebate/co-op payments
• Assists with special projects and analysis as requested

Competencies/Experience/Education requirements:
• BS degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred, or progress toward certification
• 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and applications of accounting principles
• Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks and projects and meet firm deadlines
• Analytical approach to problems with high regard for detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and results driven environment.
• Proactive and driven to succeed
• Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (primarily Excel and PowerPoint, Dynamics AX experience a plus)

1+ to 2 years experience
