Overview

This is a hands-on role for a builder, someone who enjoys creating structure, takes ownership of the

numbers, and wants to play a meaningful part in scaling a company. This individual will own the monthly

close and core accounting operations while helping shape the processes, systems, and standards that

support continued growth. The role is designed to grow into an Accounting Manager position within 12

to 24 months for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

Close & Reporting

  • Own and build the monthly close process, from checklist to delivered financials
  • Prepare accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements on a consistent monthly cadence
  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for all material entries
  • Build channel-level and operational reporting that supports decision-making

Revenue, Inventory & COGS

  • Manage revenue recognition across e-commerce, wholesale, and retail channels
  • Own Accounts Receivable from start to finish
  • Own inventory accounting and COGS, including landed cost tracking
  • Partner with operations to maintain accurate inventory and margin reporting

Accounting Operations

  • Manage Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee bank feed coding, reconciliations, and GL postings
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and general ledger integrity
  • Daily AP processing
  • Accounting Point of Contact for customers, vendors, and employees


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a senior position
  • Public Accounting experience is a huge plus
  • CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Experience within consumer, retail, apparel, or inventory-driven businesses strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and accrual-basis accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of Accounts Receivable
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online; experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP a plus
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment
  • Strong ownership mentality around deadlines, accuracy, and documentation
