Job Summary: The role will take lead on installing 1kW- 30kW residential solar systems and overseeing the installation process of a solar crew. This is an advanced installer position that requires prior solar installation experience, strong verbal communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Job Duties:

  • Assisting Crew Lead in plan review
  • Ability to perform installs from conduit to roof
  • Ability to run through electrical wires
  • Installing DC and AC equipment per plans and local codes Commissions PV systems safely
  • Assisting Crew Lead to keep installers on task
  • Assisting with system designs and procurement for residential systems
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Crew Lead and/or Regional Operations Manager (ROM)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competency:

  • Knowledge of local electrical codes
  • Knowledge of residential PV design and components
  • Knowledge of basic trades: roofing, carpentry, plumbing, and metal framing
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring schematics, and electrical instructions
  • Ability to make field changes and communicate with Project Manager
  • Ability to test voltages from 10V – 1000VDC / 120V – 480VAC
  • Ability to receive and distribute instructions
  • Ability to communicate problems to Project Manager
  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer safely

Education and Experience Required:

  • Valid Apprentice Electrical License required 
  • Valid CO Driver’s License required 
  • Valid OSHA 10 required; (OSHA 30 preferred) 
  • 2-3 years of solar installation experience required
  • Ability to be a leader
  • Electrical experience strongly recommended
  • Prior experience as a crew lead strongly preferred 

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to withstand heights, be on roofs and climb ladders 
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. 
  • Ability to bend, stretch, squat and lift. 
  • Ability to work in 100+ degree weather
