<strong>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</strong><ul><li>Assist the instructor in teaching youth dance or acrobatic classes</li><li>Ability to instruct and demonstrate the fundamentals of hip hop, acrobatics, jazz, ballet, and tap</li><li>Be a positive role model for students</li><li>Assist in the preparation of class curriculum, choreography and content</li><li>Work with instructor to prepare students for end of program dance recital</li><li>Manage and maintain equipment required for class</li><li>Conduct class with proper student discipline and enthusiasm for dance</li><li>Use safety techniques to properly instruct students</li><li>Communicate with lead instructor and/or supervisor regarding any student/parent issues</li></ul><strong>OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS</strong><ul><li>Effectively instruct and maintain a safe learning atmosphere</li><li>Create a welcoming environment for participants</li><li>Attends staff meetings</li><li>Accurately complete paperwork required (timesheet, accident forms, etc)</li></ul><p>Must be at least fifteen years of age.</p><p><strong>Education: </strong>Must have completed at least one year of high school (Program/Activity Leader I)</p><p><strong>Experience: </strong>Knowledge and/or background of the specific program, program related experience/training required</p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Knowledge of the principles and skills of dance</li><li>Two or more years of dance training preferred</li><li>Ability to teach preschool through high school age children</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and the public and to do so in a professional manner</li><li>Strong oral communication skills</li><li>Current certification in First Aid and CPR</li><li>Shall wear Unity Dance & Acrobatics uniform per the City of Appleton dress code</li><li>Adhere to the City of Appleton and Parks and Recreation Department policies and procedures</li></ul><strong>Pay Grade (Program/Activity Leader I): </strong>2<br><strong>Program: </strong>Dance & Acrobatics<br><strong>Work Location: </strong>City Center Studios<br><strong>Time Frame: </strong><p style="margin: 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin: 0; padding: 0; color: inherit"><strong> </strong><span style="margin: 0; padding: 0; color: inherit">September - May: Must be available anytime from 4:00 - 9:00 pm Monday through Thursday and Saturday mornings from 8:30am - 12:00pm<br>June - July: Must be available from 3:00pm - 9:00 pm Monday through Thursday.</span></span></p><p style="margin: 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; margin: 0; padding: 0; color: inherit">Hours: Up to 15 hours per week (hours and days of the week may vary.)</span></p><br>
