Scorekeeper (Gillette)

To maintain accurate scoring, timing, and game records for competitive and recreational athletic or sporting events while supporting a positive environment for participants and spectators. Schedule includes weekdays and Saturdays (Times/Days Vary)<ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Responsible for maintaining the official scorebook and/or scoreboard during assigned sporting events.</li><li>Arrive prepared and on time to all scheduled shifts.</li><li>Always maintain an appropriate and professional demeanor.</li><li>Accurately record scores, fouls, timeouts, substitutions, and other game-related information.</li><li>Communicate effectively with officials, coaches, and Recreation staff during contests.</li><li>Operate scoreboards, timing systems, and other game equipment as needed.</li><li>Assist in maintaining a positive environment for players and spectators.</li><li>Enforce established scorekeeping procedures and league policies.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ol><em>Knowledge, Skills and Mental Ability:</em><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Basic understanding of the sport being score kept.</li><li>Ability to maintain focus and accuracy during games.</li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.</li></ul><em>Education, Certification, Experience:</em><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Previous experience scorekeeping, participating in sports, or related experience preferred</li></ul><em>Equipment Used:</em><ul><li>Scoreboards</li><li>Timers</li><li>Scorebooks</li><li>Sport-specific equipment</li></ul><em>Physical Demands:</em><ul><li>Ability to hear ordinary conversation.</li><li>Ability to talk and communicate appropriately.</li><li>Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.</li><li>Ability to use hands and fingers for writing and operating equipment.</li></ul><em>Environmental Demands:</em><br><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Work indoors and outdoors.</li><li>Work alone.</li><li>Be able to follow oral and written instructions.</li><li>Ability to effectively deal with angry participants.</li><li>Talk, listen, and give instructions to parents and participants.</li></ul><br>An attempt will be made to reasonably accommodate an otherwise qualified individual who is protected under the American with Disabilities Act.<br><br>Campbell County is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.&nbsp;
