Job description

Aging lab in Cambridge is seeking a motivated and technically skilled in vivo research scientist for a temporary position (~6 months). Successful candidate will be able to work independently but will also be expected to be a contributing member of a multi-disciplinary team. Primary responsibilities include design and execution of in vivo experiments, including handling of adult and aged animals and progeroid mouse models and performing ex vivo analysis of tissues.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Design and execute large and complex in vivo studies to assess pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic relationships of drugs and efficacy of drug targets
  • Handling, dosing and necropsy of adult and aged mice and rats
  • Knowledge of technologies commonly used to assess drug pharmacodynamics and efficacy (ELISA, immunoblotting, IHC, qPCR, etc...)
  • Performance of in-life functional readouts to assess mobility, activity, exercise capacity and behavior of rodents
  • Collaborate with other members of pharmacology group and present data to the team


BS/MS in Biology or relevant discipline, or equivalent education and experience

5+ years Pharma/Biotech experience preferable

Basic knowledge of statistics and experience with common statistical software for biomedical research is desirable

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

Strong written, oral and record keeping skills.
