Job Description:
WHAT - Summary & Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Head of Global Science Communications who will be part of the Corporate Affairs team building and elevating Ipsen’s reputation as a science-driven company, both internally and externally. Working closely with Global R&D, medical and partnering teams you will work across ongoing research programs executing cutting-edge science with the potential to bring transformational treatments to patients across our three therapeutic areas of Oncology, Rare Disease & Neuroscience in Ipsen’s pipeline as well as amplify our scientific execution in existing therapeutic areas. Furthermore, this role will support all communications as Ipsen executes their external innovation strategy, bringing in new modalities and new therapeutic areas into Ipsen’s portfolio.
WHAT - Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies
- Creating and executing communications campaigns for R&D programs across Ipsen’s pipeline and ongoing medical studies to support safe and effective use of our medicines
- External visibility and reputation of Ipsen as a science-driven company through telling the stories of our science, our assets and our people
- Awareness day activities for science-led milestones, e.g. disease awareness days, or corporate days
- Conference visibility activities including booth content, social media, thought leadership
- Support with Executive Visibility for members of Ipsen’s Executive Leadership Team across all Ipsen owned channels
- Working with Global Head of Media Relations to identify, prepare for and execute media interviews for Ipsen’s Executive Leadership Team members
- Preparation of all communications materials relating to pipeline program announcements or ongoing Phase IV or RWE studies, and/or other publications
- Preparation of all communications materials announcing new partnerships/additions to Ipsen’s pipeline through external innovation strategy
- Internal communication and leadership for R&D and medical functions including preparation and execution of Town halls, internal articles profiling key deliverables and activities, internal-focused events to educate and inform colleagues of key deliverables
- Creation and updates to core resources and materials relating to Ipsen’s R&D, medical and Global partnering.
- Bi-annual updates to Ipsen.com science-focused content
- Social media content development
HOW - Knowledge & Experience
Knowledge & Experience (essential):
- Experience in defining, developing and executing strategic communications programs at a global or local level covering internal and external stakeholders needs.
- Experience in scientific and medical communications supporting R&D, brand or franchise positionings. Preference for experience in Ipsen's strategic areas of Oncology, Rare Disease, Neuroscience.
- Strong experience and capabilities in written materials across range of audiences from HCPs, general public, patients, scientists, biotech.
- Strong project management skills.
- Internal communications experience including community management
Knowledge & Experience (preferred):
- Scientific background preferred but not essential.
- Leadership communications experience preferred.
- Experienced communications individual with at least 5 years experience. In house experience preferred but not essential.
Education / Certifications (essential):
- Degree-level education
Language(s) (essential):
- English and French
