SCADA Technician

This job is with a public utility company located in the Nashville area. They are seeking a technician to monitor, gather information from, and respond to SCADA alarms generated by sensor-based systems. I am advertising in your area to find people who might consider relocating to Nashville, TN.

This is an opportunity to use your skills in automation, networking, controls, and communications to keep services available to customers. You should have five years’ experience as a technician, working with sensor-based systems, computer communications, and industrial controls.

• Maintain and optimize SCADA software and servers. Configure alarm management and system security.
• Program, configure, and commission PLCs and control equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC hardware and software issues.
• Install and maintain instrumentation, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves.
• Maintain communication channels between remote sites and control systems.
• Configure firewalls and secure SCADA infrastructure.
• Install and maintain servers, drivers, and software.
• Manage software licensing and support contracts.
• Install, calibrate, repair, and replace field devices.

REQUIREMENTS

• AAS degree preferred and five years’ experience responding to SCADA alarms and working with PLC’s.
• Experience working with a variety of instrumentation, including meters, transmitters, analyzers
• Experience working with a variety of network protocols, control systems, and firewalls.
• This job has significant physical requirements, especially in field work.
