Job Title: SAP ABAP & API Integration Developer (ECC / S/4HANA | Gateway | RAP/CAP)

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP ABAP & API Integration Developer with hands-on experience in S/4HANA, API-first development, and SAP BTP integration patterns. The candidate will design and build scalable OData APIs, RAP-based services, and modern integration artifacts enabling seamless connectivity between SAP and enterprise platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, ServiceNow, Salesforce).

This role requires strong expertise in ABAP on HANA, SAP Gateway, CDS, RAP, and API lifecycle management, with a focus on performance, scalability, and clean-core principles.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–6 years of SAP ABAP development experience, including S/4HANA exposure
• Strong expertise in:
  • ABAP on HANA (CDS Views, AMDP, performance optimization)
  • SAP Gateway & OData service development
  • RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model)
• Solid understanding of:
  • API design principles (REST, JSON, OAuth, API lifecycle)
  • Integration patterns (real-time, batch, event-driven)
• Experience with:
  • Enhancements (BADIs, Exits), BAPIs, RFCs
  • End-to-end API development and consumption
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments
• Strong communication skills with ability to interact with business and technical stakeholders
• Proactive problem-solving and ownership mindset
• Ability to work in cross-functional and distributed teams

Good to Have (Preferred Skills)

• SAP CRM Knowledge
• Exposure to:
  • SAP CAP (Node.js/Java)
  • SAP BTP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh)

• Experience with:
  • Fiori/UI5 application development
  • Event-driven architecture and messaging systems
• Familiarity with:
  • SAP Clean Core and extensibility models (In-App vs Side-by-Side)
  • CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control
• Domain exposure in Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Finance integrations

Key Responsibilities

• API & Integration Development
  • Design and develop OData V2/V4 services using SAP Gateway, RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model)
  • Build reusable, scalable APIs aligned with API-first and clean core principles
  • Develop integration artifacts enabling SAP connectivity with middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, SAP Integration Suite)
• ABAP on HANA Development
  • Develop optimized solutions using CDS Views, AMDP, ABAP OO, and HANA pushdown techniques
  • Build and enhance RAP-based business objects and services
  • Work on enhancements (BADIs, User Exits), BAPIs, RFCs, and custom frameworks
• Modern SAP Development (BTP & CAP)
  • Exposure to or hands-on experience with SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model) for side-by-side extensions
  • Support development of cloud-native services on SAP BTP
• Design & Architecture
  • Translate business requirements into scalable integration and API solutions
  • Define data models using CDS with annotations
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise integration patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven)
• Testing & Quality
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and API validation
  • Debug and troubleshoot performance and runtime issues
• Collaboration
  • Work closely with functional teams, architects, middleware teams, and external vendors
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and platform governance
