Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled The Safety Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This position promotes a safe working environment by identifying workplace hazards, conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Job Objective / Responsibilities: Supervise personnel on the production floor.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Monitor high-risk activities to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
Manage and follow up on the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system.
Track action plans to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Identify workplace hazards and perform risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with internal Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures.
Support internal and external audits, as well as management system audits.
Develop and implement improvements to reduce and mitigate operational risks.
Deliver safety training and develop educational materials to strengthen safe work practices.
Monitor legal compliance studies and Industrial Hygiene requirements in accordance with STPS Official Mexican Standards (NOMs).
Follow up on safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
Qualifications Education: Experience: Knowledge of: Skills
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management.
Ergonomics
Environmental regulations and legislation
Mexican Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) regulations
ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
Emergency response teams and brigades
Operational meetings
Basic knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
