A Glimpse into Your New Role
As a Payroll & Rostering Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing and effective workforce rostering. This role supports the day-to-day operations of client branches and ensures staffing and payment accuracy, aligned with award requirements, company policy, and client needs. You will also contribute to client invoicing, reporting, and compliance with Fair Work Australia standards.
Your Day Could See You:
Payroll Processing
End-to-end payroll execution in line with internal policies and relevant Australian Modern Awards
Managing timesheet accuracy, authorizations, and exception handling (e.g., through UKG)
Importing payroll data, resolving discrepancies, and issuing pay remittances
Maintaining payroll files and documentation
Addressing payroll-related queries via the ticketing system and escalating when necessary
Rostering Management
Creating and maintaining shift rosters that meet operational, award, and legal requirements
Coordinating with branch staff to align on coverage and availability
Handling shift swaps, last-minute changes, and unplanned absences
Ensuring real-time updates of rosters and prompt communication with staff
Supporting reporting for roster activity and shift coverage
Client Invoicing & Reporting
Generating client invoices aligned with payroll data
Preparing and sending timesheets and statements
Maintaining Cobweb entries and producing weekly/monthly reports
Supporting client-specific reports (e.g., Ingram reports)
Compliance & Workplace Culture
Ensuring adherence to WHS, EEO, Anti-Discrimination, and Fair Work Australia policies
Upholding confidentiality, professionalism, and company Code of Conduct

What You’ll Bring:
At least 2 years of experience in payroll and/or rostering roles (preferably supporting AU-based operations)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in timesheet and payroll validation
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Knowledge of payroll systems and rostering platforms (e.g., UKG, Cobweb)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
Excellent communication skills, integrity, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Vocational training or recruitment industry experience (preferred)
