About Outpatient Clinics

Scope of Work

The Infusion Clinical Nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family center care principles. Under the direct supervision of the Nursing leader and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to access and implement the treatment plan for patients. The RN assesses monitors, detects, plans and takes appropriate action to prevent physiological complications associated with specific health problems and/or medical treatment.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree graduate (A.D.N.) or equivalent of an accredited school of nursing, required
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.N., M.S.N., or DNP/PhD), preferred - if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within five (5) years required
  • At least 1 year acute care RN experience, required
  • Infusion and/or chemotherapy experience, preferred
  • State of Michigan Registered Nurse license, required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support certification, required
  • Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification, required within 1 year of employment
