The Risk Coordinator provides critical support in the administration and oversight of the organization’s Workers’ Compensation, Auto/Fleet, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs. This role is responsible for coordinating claims, assisting with compliance and reporting, supporting safety initiatives, and partnering with facilities, employees, and external partners (carriers, TPAs, brokers, vendors) to reduce risk exposure and ensure organizational safety and compliance.
Essential Duties
Workers’ Compensation
- Track and monitor WC claims, ensuring timely reporting, documentation, and follow-up with TPAs and facilities.
- Maintain claims files, reports, and metrics; assist in preparing claim review materials.
- Support return-to-work and modified duty programs, ensuring communication between HR, facility leadership, and claims staff.
- Assist with reserve and settlement reviews; escalate issues to leadership as needed.
Auto & Fleet Risk
- Support administration of the company’s fleet safety program, including MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) checks and driver compliance.
- Track vehicle claims and incidents; coordinate with TPAs, adjusters, and facilities to ensure timely reporting.
- Maintain fleet records (driver eligibility, DOT compliance, accident logs).
- Assist in monitoring red-flag violations and coordinating corrective action follow-up.
Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
- Support rollout of corporate safety programs, trainings, and audits across facilities.
- Track incident reports, OSHA logs, and other regulatory documentation.
- Assist in developing and distributing safety communications, toolkits, and resources.
- Coordinate scheduling of safety audits, fit testing, and compliance checks with facilities.
General Risk Support
- Maintain dashboards, scorecards, and key metrics across WC, Auto, and EHS lines.
- Provide data analysis and prepare regular reports for leadership and executives.
- Assist in coordinating quarterly claim reviews, stewardship meetings, and safety committee meetings.
- Liaise with external vendors (TPAs, carriers, brokers, law firms) to ensure timely delivery of services.
- Support special projects, policy updates, and risk-related initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of experience in workers’ compensation, risk management, insurance, or safety coordination (healthcare/long-term care experience a plus).
- Familiarity with WC claims, auto/fleet safety programs, and OSHA/EHS regulations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with claims systems or safety platforms preferred.
